25007 / 100000 words. 25% done!

Mean things: Taking a chair to the back in a WWF homage. Scalp lacerations. Snake wine.
Deaths: One poor redshirt. The snakes were already dead.

Isyllt's only been in Assar for a day and has already had the shit beat out of her and dead snakes dropped in her lap. It's really amazing I've gotten three books out of her.

In between my 2700 words, I experimented with drinks in honor of Uncle Howard's birthday. The pictured drink is an Eye of Dagon, a Bloody Eyeball variant which turned out very nicely: gin, vermouth, lime, a jalapeno-stuffed olive, and a few drops of Hideous at the bottom. It starts off brackish and bitter and gets sweeter and spicier as you go down.

Hideous was my discovery of the night, a fabulous citrus-and-berry liqueur. I also experimented with it in a Bloody Tongue, but couldn't get it just right. More updates on that will follow.

* I suspect Kingdoms, like TBP, will be more than 100k, but I'll delude myself for now.

I'm not sure if your drink intrigues me or frightens me more. This is much like my first few sushi experiments.

I'm not sure I can drink something that looked like that, though it sounds tasty. (Maybe with my eyes shut? I am such a wimp.)

Wow..
The drink kind of looks like some weird alien fetus. (O.o)

So, are the gin and vermouth shaken together and poured over the Hideous? Is the lime squeezed into the gin and vermouth before or after?

This sounds like the sort of drink I'd enjoy.

I shake the lime and gin together, which seems to increase the bitterness. If you want less bitter, try squeezing the lime. Swirl the vermouth around the glass to coat it, put the olive in the bottom, pour in the gin and lime. Drip the Hideous in carefully so it pools at the bottom. If you pour anything into the Hideous it will mix it up and you'll get a bad case of pink-eye instead of a bloody eyeball.

Hrm. Now to see if I can find some Hideous before tonight's party...

And restock on Bombay Sapphire, because Hendrick's is just for G+T.
